Ready, Set, Launch Your Business
Does your career path take an entrepreneurial route to launching your own business? You’re not alone. Many UNCG students leverage a number of campus resources to get the start they need to become their own boss. The Entrepreneurship Cross-Disciplinary Program (ECDP), the North Carolina Entrepreneurship Center, and the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship are just some of the many resources on and off campus to help develop and grow your business.
The North Carolina Entrepreneurship Center
The NCEC helps students, faculty, staff, and community members start and grow their own successful businesses. It spearheads and sponsors more than a dozen initiatives to help innovative people create and expand their entrepreneurial opportunities.
Entrepreneurship Cross-Disciplinary Program
UNCG’s entrepreneurship major is designed for the student who wants to start his or her own business or join a creative, innovative organization that is entrepreneurial. There are eight major cross-disciplinary profiles that students can choose from after completing their foundation courses in entrepreneurship.
The Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship
A nonprofit organization, the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship, Inc. advises and houses start-up and early stage growth entrepreneurs through a business incubator located in the heart of Greensboro. The Center provides modestly priced office and light manufacturing space along with shared support services. In 29 years, the Center has graduated more than 290 businesses with an 80% success rate. Currently the Center serves 54 companies of which 74% are minority owned.
