Career Development Presentations

Career & Professional Development houses our Career Development staff, comprised of professional career coaches. In addition to meeting with students individually and in small groups, the coaches conduct over 300 classroom presentations annually. The presentations can range from in-class announcements lasting 5-10 minutes, to concept introduction in a period of 20-30 minutes, as well as to interactive workshops running an hour or longer. We can modify the length and content to meet your needs.

Faculty and Staff Instructors are encouraged to complete the online presentation request form to have one of our career coaches present for your class or organization.

Presentation Recommendations

100 – 200 Course Levels: students in these sections are typically at the freshman and sophomore level and/or may be at the beginning of their career development process. Here are the topics and programs recommended from our office:

  • How to Find an Internship

300 – 400 Course Levels: students in these sections are typically at the junior and senior level and/or may be interested in preparing for their career choices. Here are the topics and programs recommended from our office:

  • Developing a Professional Resume
  • Developing a LinkedIn Profile
  • Interview Skill Development
  • Effective Job & Internship Search
  • Applying to Graduate School

500 – 700 Course Levels: students in these sections are typically at the graduate or doctoral level. Here are topics and programs recommended from our office:

  • Developing a Professional Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Interview Skill Development
  • Academic and Non-Academic Job Search
  • Developing a LinkedIn Profile
